Melaka Sentral - Getting to Melaka by Bus
March 15th, 2006
Pictures of Melaka Sentral at Flickr
If you are traveling to Melaka by bus, the bus and taxi terminal is undeniably one of the main landmarks greeting your presence in Melaka. In May 2004, a sparkling new building called Melaka Sentral located in Peringgit was commenced, and it signifies the beginning of a new age of developed public facilities in Melaka.
If you have been to Melaka via public express bus prior to May 2004, you probably still remember the olden days of the dilapidated bus terminal at Jalan Tun Ali, which was sitting along the riverbank of Melaka River. During that time, rainy day is practically not a good time to board as your body will be getting wet; neither sunny day is comfortable, as the waiting area was warm and uncomfortable. However, all these inconveniences are now a history. Melaka Sentral is practically one of the best bus terminals in Malaysia.
Transportation Terminal
The establishment of Melaka Sentral has shifted the paradigm of public transports in Melaka. The RM61 million fully air-conditioned building designed with modern architecture is now the central terminal for the following transportation modes:
- Intercity express buses
Traveling between major towns in Malaysia, such as Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat, and Muar of Southern Peninsula; Kuala Lumpur, Seremban, Klang, and Subang of Central Peninsula; Ipoh, Butterworth, Alor Setar and Perlis of West Coast Peninsula; Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, and Kota Bahru of East Coast Peninsula. Direct transitions to Singapore and Hat Yai of Thailand are also available.
- Domestic bus services
Transiting on various routes of various places in Melaka. Practically every places in Melaka is reachable with domestic bus, but some of the less popular routes are offered at irregular interval.
- Taxis
Readily available anytime for a quick ride. Taxis offering a ride to KLIA can also be found at Melaka Sentral. For your information, taxi services in Melaka are not metered. Thus, be sure to confirm for an agreed charge before boarding.
Domestic Bus Services are yet to Be Improved
Though the intercity express bus services found in Melaka Sentral are serving at satisfying level, and some even of superb quality, but the domestic bus services in the state are still generally rated at poor satisfaction at present. Bus leaving and arriving without according to schedule, dirty seats and errant bus operators are just some examples of frequently heard complaints.
Facilities at Melaka Sentral
In addition to busses and taxis, the Melaka Sentral is equipped with a comfortable waiting area for each terminal.
Filling your noisy tummy is never a problem at Melaka Sentral. Fast food outlets like A&W and Marry Brown are available, and local cookeries can also be found at the twenty-six units of food court at decent price.
ATM (Automated Teller Machine) are also readily available in Melaka Sentral should you need to withdraw some cash before boarding.
Besides, the Melaka Sentral complex is also equipped with a number of shop lots offering various products and services, such as cloths, telecommunication goods, eyewear, footwear, and magazines.
Parking at Melaka Sentral? Should not be a hitch as the complex has 1,046 parking spaces - 668 for cars, 364 bays for motorcycles and 14 lots for lorries.
There is also a ticketing counter for AirAsia, the most popular budget air carrier in Malaysia with comprehensive coverage in Southeast Asia countries.
Walking Distance to Tesco Melaka
At the Melaka Sentral, you will surely notice a bridge crossing the busy traffic of Jalan Tun Razak. This is the RM4.59 million pedestrian bridge which links Taman Cempaka and Tesco Hypermarket with the Melaka Sentral. This facility has made Tesco Hypermarket such an easily accessible destination, if you were to wait for your scheduled trip.
RM2 Daily Fare - Panorama Bus
In Melaka, there are also red colour buses called Panorama, serving Melaka town route, at daily flat rate. Single-deck Panorama is charging RM2 per day, while the double-deck (think of Double-Decker Mamee) Panorama is charging at RM5 per day. Click here to download Panorama route map.

Hi! This middle of August, i’ve planned to visit Melaka for 2 days. I’m from Jakarta, I think i’m gonna straight to Melaka from KLIA, can you help me what transportation should I take to go to Melaka from KLIA. And how long the trip from KLIA and Melaka?
2. Administrator | June 23rd, 2006 at 2:38 pm
Evi:
The easiest and most convinient approach of getting directly to Melaka from KLIA, is by taxi or limo. The journey should only take about 1 hour and 30 minutes (at most). There’s no direct express bus service scheduled to travel between KLIA and Melaka.
If you plan to make a stop at Kuala Lumpur, then you can consider traveling from KLIA to KL Sentral by KLIA Express air-rail. In Kuala Lumpur, there are plenty of express bus services traveling to Melaka at frequent interval. Of course, this plan is only practical if you plan to make a stop at Kuala Lumpur.

Hi!
We are going to A’famosa resort from Singapore and will be taking a coach up from Singapore, which will stop at Sentral Bus Terminal.
1. How far is it to go to A’famosa resort from the bus terminal
2. Can we book mini-vans at the bus terminal to get there? There is 8 of us
3. How much roughly will it cost
4. How long is the journey from bus terminal to the resort?

Sui Lin:
1. How far is it to go to A’famosa resort from the bus terminal
Approximately 45 minutes
2. Can we book mini-vans at the bus terminal to get there? There is 8 of us
As far as I’m concerned, there’s no van transport services at Melaka Sentral. You may opt for taxis which are readily available though.
Alternatively, a domestic bus operator, Tye Lai, is traveling to A’ Famosa Resort. Please enquire and confirm on their routes before taking the bus, just in case my information is outdated.
I shall help you to check for confirmed information on this matter, and will send you the updates via email if I’ve got any. When’s your trip?
3. How much roughly will it cost
It depends on the transportation mode. I’m not sure about the exact taxi rate, but it should be less than RM50 for hiring a taxi from Melaka to A’ Famosa Resort.
4. How long is the journey from bus terminal to the resort?
I’ve answered in the first question.
By the way, A’ Famosa Resort is offering a package, inclusive of direct transportation from Singapore to the resort. Check it out here.

I plan to visit Melaka,I wish to know what time the last bus depart from Melka Sentral to Larkin.
6. Administrator | October 31st, 2006 at 4:59 pm

You can check out the up-to-date bus schedules for Transnasional at their website.
Besides, you can also try to inquire KKKL Melaka by calling 06-2881399

Where can I get schedule for ferries from Dumai and for buses from Melaka to KLIA?
8. Administrator | November 3rd, 2006 at 8:44 am
Alex:
For Melaka-Dumai ferry service, you can try to check out at Indomal Express. Ticket price and contact details are available.
As for bus from Melaka to KLIA, with reference to the 2nd comment in this page, currently there’s no direct bus service between these 2 destinations. You will need to opt for taxi as the most convenient approach. Please refer to the 2nd comment for further relevant information.

I’m thinking of taking a bus from KL to Melaka, but I need it via Ayer Keroh as I want to stop at Jusco. Which are the busses that take this route, can anyone help?
12. Administrator | November 29th, 2006 at 2:11 pm
CR Lim:
I’m a frequent commuter between KL and Melaka, and always prefer to stop at Jusco on the way back.
You are asking the correct person
KKKL and Transnasional are both entering Melaka via Ayer Keroh, and thus passing by Melaka Mall and Jusco. Personally, I prefer KKKL, as the seats are more comfortable.

Hi ! We are plan to go A Famosa Water World by taking bus from Sentral, what buses should we take?
Can guide me how to go Tesco from Bukit Beruang?
Thanks.
14. Administrator | December 14th, 2006 at 10:58 am
Brian:
There’s no bus directly traveling between Melaka Sentral and A’Famosa Resort. A few years back, a domestic bus operator called Tai Tyle actually transited to A’Famosa Resort from Melaka, but I’m not sure if this route is still offered now.
By the way, you may check out the 4th comment in this page to find out further information on getting to A’Famosa Resort by public transports.
Getting to Tesco from Bukit Beruang is easy. You may take Bas Wira from Bukit Beruang, which is routed to Melaka Sentral. On the way, right before stopping at Melaka Sentral, this bus actually passes by Tesco. Alternatively, you may opt for taxi as well, which is a faster approach

Hi, I would like to know if I could take a bus from KL Sentral direct to Melaka Sentral and vice versa? Or do I have to take it from Pudu? Can I know all the buses that operate this route and their schedule plus their prices?
If I’m taking the bus from KL Sentral to Melaka Sentral, is the bus going to make any stop in any towns on the way, like Seremban, or is it direct to Melaka?
And how bout the average price of taking a cab from Melaka direct to KLIA/LCCT? Are cabs going to KLIA/LCCT easily available at Melaka Sentral?
16. Administrator | February 14th, 2007 at 9:16 am
Bilvo:
There’s no bus from KL Sentral to Melaka Sentral. All buses of this route are operating at Plaza Rakyat of Pudu.
The KL-Melaka bus service operators available are, but not limited to, KKKL, Transnasional, Delima, Jebat, and Mayang Sari. The average fare is RM9.40 or RM9.50 per trip.
Personally, I recommend KKKL for the comfortable seats; but the tickets are always selling hot, and so availability is limited especially during weekends and public holidays.
KKKL and Transnasional are for sure offering non-stop journey from Pudu to Melaka Sentral. Delima stops at Alor Gajah before reaching Melaka Sentral. For other operators, you should inquire before purchasing.
Taxis going to KLIA/LCCT are readily available at Melaka Sentral, for average price of RM160 per trip.
17. bilvo | February 28th, 2007 at 11:48 pm
Thank you for your informative reply. Oh and how long would the journey take from Melaka to KLIA/LCCT?
18. Administrator | March 1st, 2007 at 10:49 am
The driving journey between Melaka and KLIA/LCCT is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes
19. saif | March 5th, 2007 at 1:33 am
i’m from singapore & would like to know whether there is any hotel nearby the melaka sentral.and is there any bus going to rumah awam bertam malim & how far is this rumah awam from the terminal is it a walking distance?. thank you.
20. Administrator | March 5th, 2007 at 10:13 am
Saif:
As far as I’m concerned, there’s no hotel located within walking distance from Melaka Sentral. Some of the relatively near alternatives are City Bayview Hotel, Hotel Grand Continental Melaka, Orchid Hotel and Renaissance Hotel Melaka. These alternatives are about 8 minutes of driving distance from Melaka Sentral
Likewise, the Rumah Awam Bertam Malim is also not located within walking distance from Melaka Sentral. It’s about 8-10 minutes driving distance away. I’m not sure about the bus route getting to Ruman Awam Bertam Malim though

May I know have a bus from melaka sentral to Equatorial Hotel( nerby)? How much? How far from E.Hotel to Afamosa ?How much the taxi fare?Thank you very much!
22. Administrator | March 14th, 2007 at 8:48 am
Bennie Wong:
Equatorial Hotel is located in Bandar Hilir, and yes, there are buses commuting between Melaka Sentral and Bandar Hilir. One of them is Town Bus no 17 (green color bus), which travels to Bandar Hilir. Please further confirm with the bus operator if Town Bus no 17 is still passing by Equatorial Hotel, just in case my information is outdated.
Do you mean the A’ Famosa fortress or A’ Famosa Resort?
If you mean A’ Famosa fortress, it’s located within walking distance from Equatorial Hotel.
Otherwise if you mean A’ Famosa Resort, it’s about 45 minutes driving distance away from Equatorial Hotel, and you would definitely want to opt for a taxi, or alternatives as suggested in 4th and 14th comment above.

Hi, I plan to go afamosa this weekend. I already bought ticket bus transnational from KL pudu raya to Tampin bus stop. May I know from Tampin bus stop got any transportation to afamosa? How much it cost? duration? Thanks for your help. ^_^
32. Administrator | April 12th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
Yes, at Tampin bus terminal, you can get to A’ Famosa Resort by Tye Lai local bus. Sorry but I have no idea about the cost and duration of bus ride, as I’ve never taken this approach before.
You may consider taxi as well. I believe it shouldn’t cost much as the distance is relatively short. Make sure you’ve agreed on the rate before boarding on taxi.

Hi. Do all buses from KL Puduraya stop at Malacca Sentral Bus Terminal?
34. Administrator | April 27th, 2007 at 6:20 pm

No. Some of the buses are heading to Alor Gajah, a district of Melaka.
Make sure you take the bus which is heading to Ayer Keroh, if you’re going to Melaka town
35. Kelvin | June 2nd, 2007 at 8:46 pm
Hi, I am going to A’Famosa resort in a month’s time and i have some enquiries.
1. If i want to head to Malacca town, may i know how long will the journey take? Is the best way by cab? How much would it cost?
2. Can you recommend some good shopping malls to visit, and some places with alot of good food too?
Thanks!
36. Administrator | June 10th, 2007 at 11:42 am
Kelvin:
1. The journey between Melaka to and A’Famosa Resort is approximately 45 minutes. Undoubtedly, the most convenient transportation mode for this journey is by taxi/cab, as public buses is not very well-developed at the district where A’Famosa Resort is located.
I’m not too sure how much exactly the taxi service will cost you, but I think it should be ranging from RM40 to RM50. Taxis in Melaka is not charged by meter.
2. I believe there are only 2 shopping malls of your interest, Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan, both are just located opposite each other at Bandar Hilir.
In Melaka, real good foods are not found centralised in any food court. They are scattered around on its own. You may check out foods section of this site, or Jason Lioh’s food postings for relevant information.

I like to know if there are direct Transportation Services from KLIA LCCT to Malacca (either by Taxi or Bus).
How long is the journey and what are the charges like?
Also, if I am keen to visit the Sepang F1 Racing Circuit on my way to Malacca, are there short tours to the venue available at the Airport?
If not, what do you recommend?

1) The journey between Melaka Sentral and LCCT, is approximately 2 hours (1 hour 30 minutes if considering between Ayer Keroh toll and LCCT)
2) Are your friends driving? If driving, you would have to take KLIA exit at North South Expressway, and follow direction to LCCT. Then, enter back into North South Expressway again, and head to Sungai Besi toll for KL.

If there is, how much would the bus/taxi fare cost?
Thank you

Crystal:
1) Busses to Bandar Hilir from Melaka Sentral are passing by Equatorial Hotel.
2) Sorry but I don’t have sufficient information to furnish you with the public transportation between Melaka Sentral and Kuantan.
Key:
Melaka Bus Station and Melaka Sentral mean the same. Please refer to the 4th comment above for information on bus trip between Melaka Sentral and A Famosa Resort.
Suraya:
If driving, the journey between Melaka Sentral and Hotel Tropicaville is approximately 12 minutes.
Hotel Tropicaville is located very near to Mahkota Hotel. You may take Town Bus to reach there. However, in comparison, taxi is definitely the fastest option.

Is it possible to arrive in Melaka from KL, then onwards to Singapore? (or vice versa)
As we are from Australia, how would this affect our entry into Singapore?
Thanks if you can help!
78. Administrator | August 24th, 2007 at 1:53 pm

Yes, there are express buses traveling between Melaka and Singapore at frequent intervals, such as Delima Express and 707 Travel Group Express. 707 Travel Group Express only takes 3 hours and 30 minutes to reach Singapore from Melaka Sentral, and vice versa.
The bus tickets between Melaka and Singapore are usually selling like hot cake, so it’s advisable to purchase your tickets upon arrival at Melaka Sentral.

i am planning to visit Muar town on 25 Sept 2007. i will be traveling from Seremban town and planned for a day trip. Please advice which way will be better,a). Seremban to Melaka and take a bus to Muar town or b). seremban to Muar town. and is there public transport available from me to go to muar town from seremban?.
thank you
82. lee | September 17th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
can i have the bus express contact number in order to buy a bus ticket return from melaka to butterworth, penang ?
thanks for the help
83. Administrator | September 18th, 2007 at 9:22 am
Hanah:
If there is, then of course it will be more convenient for you traveling directly from Seremban to Muar.
To better answer your question, I think first you have to know whether there is direct public transport from Seremban to Muar
But my apology, we don’t have much idea about public transport options offered in Seremban.
Just my personal opinion, I think there should be at least a bus operator offering Seremban-Muar route
Lee:
You may contact Transnasional Melaka Sentral: 06-2820687, 06-2820560
84. lee | September 18th, 2007 at 10:54 am
Dear administrator,
thank you so much for your help, well, here is another question, do you think is it fine if i just buy return bus ticket to butterworth on the day that i arriving Melaka ? and i will be Melaka on November 2007.
thanks.
85. Administrator | September 18th, 2007 at 1:27 pm
Lee:
It depends. If you’re in Melaka during peak season, such as public holidays and weekends, bus tickets are usually selling like hot cake
That is a subjective question
86. lee | September 18th, 2007 at 2:18 pm
ok, i got it …. well, thank you so much of the help ..
87. LHF | September 18th, 2007 at 4:32 pm
hi administrator ,
Is Melaka Sentral the only one bus terminal in melaka ? i have ask my bus agent here in penang, they told me that bus will be arriving melaka bus terminal which near river… does it Melaka Sentral they meant ?
88. Administrator | September 18th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
LHF:
Currently, Melaka town only has 1 central bus terminal where express buses operate. Before Melaka Sentral is built, there was an old bus terminal located by river side, but no longer in-use now.
The most descriptive landmark to describe Melaka Sentral is “opposite Tesco”

1. How far is D-Paradise from Equatorial Hotel in Malacca town?
2. What is the fare to go there, eg by cab?
90. Matt | September 23rd, 2007 at 8:11 pm
Hi, I will be spending a day in Melaka on my way from KL to Singapore, probably on the Delima bus.
Does the new Sentral terminal have a left luggage facility? Anyone know cost and opening hours?
Thanks for any help.
91. Administrator | September 26th, 2007 at 8:48 am
Jo:
The D-Paradise tropical fruit farm is actually quite a distance from Equatorial Hotel Melaka, at least 50 minutes of driving distance. As D-Paradise is not located in Melaka town, thus public transport options are not well-developed. The most feasible option would be by cab/taxi
Matt:
Yes, Melaka Sentral has luggage lockers. Sorry but I have no idea on the cost and operating hours at this moment
92. Ranelle | September 26th, 2007 at 5:41 pm
Hi administrator, do you know if there is any taxi travelling from Melaka to Penang, beside bus?
93. Administrator | September 26th, 2007 at 6:42 pm
Ranelle:
There are definitely some taxi drivers who willing to travel from Melaka to Penang. So may get it at Melaka Sentral taxi station
94. summer | September 28th, 2007 at 3:05 pm
Hi, may i know how to go to Segamat from Melaka.what is the time
they bus set off to Segamat and which buses or other transportation?
Thank you very much.
95. Administrator | September 29th, 2007 at 4:17 pm
Summer:
There are 3 express bus operators traveling to Segamat from Melaka Sentral.
1. Cepat Express: 8am, 12pm, 3pm, 8pm
2. Zuco Express: 12pm, 8pm, 10pm
3. SKA Express: 12pm, 8pm, 10pm
You’re advised to inquire on their respective route before purchasing your ticket. Since there are more than 1 operators, each might be taking varying duration to reach Segamat.

Hi, I’m from KL. Next week I’m going to stay at Everly Resort Hotel Melaka in a couple days. I’m plan to coming back to KL by using the bus. Do you know any bus station nearest to the Everly Resort Hotel that I can get ? Hope you can give the full address for the bus station.
Thank you very much.
97. Administrator | October 3rd, 2007 at 5:02 pm
Rose:
Everly Resort Hotel is located within the Melaka Tengah (town) district of Melaka, and the nearest bus station is Melaka Sentral
98. Rose | October 4th, 2007 at 10:12 am
How about Alor Gajah ? Any bus station there ? If have, how far is it between Alor Gajah bus station and Melaka Sentral from Everly Hotel.
Thank you.
99. Administrator | October 6th, 2007 at 12:23 pm
Rose:
Traveling to Alor Gajah from Everly Hotel by taxi takes approximately 30 minutes. On the other hand, Melaka Sentral is nearer, which is about 15 minutes drive from Everly Hotel. Further more, public transport options at Melaka Sentral is far better than Alor Gajah
100. angie | October 8th, 2007 at 2:15 pm
Hi I have read all the posts here but still need a few info. Can you advice me on taxi fare, and time needed from:
1. Malacca Sentral to Jln Kota (Aldy hotel)
2. Jln Kota to Tampin train station
3. Jln Kota to Malacca Zoo
I have also seen the maps of Chinatown as well as the Ayer Keroh area, but is there one that connects the two? How far are these two areas apart?
Assuming I am at the Malacca zoo and need a cab to Jusco, which is just down the road, how much should I expect to pay? Are cabs readily found at the zoo area?
Also there is one area callled Melaka Raya, and the Malim Jaya food court. How far are these places from the town area (say Aldy hotel) that I will be staying? i can’t find them on the maps too.
Looking at the Chinatown map, can you also tell me where Makota Parade is located?
Thank you so much!
101. Administrator | October 14th, 2007 at 12:02 pm
Angie:
Following is an approximate taxi fare for your reference:
1. Malacca Sentral to Jln Kota: RM10 - RM15; 15 minutes
2. Jln Kota to Tampin train station: no idea; 50 minutes
3. Jln Kota to Malacca Zoo: RM15-RM20; 35 minutes
We’re yet to have any high level map published at this site, that links between Ayer Keroh and Melaka Old Town (Chinatown). But the distance betwene these 2 places is approximately 35 minutes.
Cabs are readily found at Zoo Melaka (Malacca Zoo). You’re right, Jusco is just about 10 minutes from Zoo Melaka; but do note that taxis in Melaka are not charged by meter
I believe you should expect to pay about RM10. Always ask for the rate before boarding to any taxi.
In the Melaka Old Town (Chinatown) map, with reference to “Places of Interest” label 3 - The Stadthuys, Melaka Raya is just 5 minutes drive away (if not heavy traffic).
Malim Jaya Food Court is located about 15 minutes away from the Melaka Old Town though.
From Aldy Hotel, you could reach Dataran Pahlawan Megamall within 10 minutes, considering a slow pace walk
and Mahkota Parade is just opposite Dataran Pahlawan Megamall
You’ve got your accommodation at quite a convenient location
102. ivy | October 16th, 2007 at 2:29 pm
Hi,
Can you direct me how to go Melaka Sentral station from Ayer Keroh toll by driving? Thanks!
103. kanya | October 17th, 2007 at 10:49 am
hi,, i’m planning to go to melaka tomorrow… my apartment is at cyberjaya… i’m going to melaka from there… which roada do i have to take??? is it the same with genting???
104. Administrator | October 18th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Ivy:
With reference to Ayer Keroh map, from Ayer Keroh toll, you should hit straight from heading to Air Terjun Bukit Sebukor.
When the Air Terjun Bukit Sebukor is on your right, you should have came to a traffic light junction. Keep going straight, you will pass by another traffic light. Keep going, you should see Proton Edar on your right while you’re approaching another traffic light. At this junction, turn left.
Then, you will see Hospital Besar Melaka following by Masjid Al Azim on your left. At the mosque, is where another big traffic light junction with a fly-over road is found. At this junction, turn right.
After turning right, keep going straight, till you come to a traffic light junction. You should see Tesco on your left, and Melaka Sentral is on your right. Of course, turn right at this junction and you will reach Melaka Sentral
105. Administrator | October 18th, 2007 at 5:31 pm
Kanya:
From Cyberjaya, Genting is northward while Melaka is southward
You should look for Johor Bahru or Seremban PLUS highway sign to reach Melaka. From Cyberjaya via PLUS highway, you will first pass by Seremban in 45 minutes, and later on Ayer Keroh (Melaka) exit in another 1 hour drive.

107. yy | November 1st, 2007 at 8:23 am
Hi,
May I please know how to get from KL Jalan Pudu to Melaka Ocean Palm Apartments by bus?
Thanks alot! =)
108. Administrator | November 6th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
yy:
You first need to take an express bus from Plaza Rakyat Pudu to Melaka Sentral. You may refer to above comments for information on getting to Melaka Sentral from Pudu
Then at Melaka Sentral, it’s more convenient taking taxi to Ocean Palm Apartment than taking bus. Else if you prefer bus, make sure the sure travels to Tanjung Kling.

Hi! May I know what is KKKL’s telephone number? i tried calling the number provided in comment #26, apparently it is out of service.
Also, I’m staying in the Garden Service Apartment. How much would the cab fare be if I took a cab from Melaka Central to the apartment?

How long is the journey??When is the earliest bus depart from Puduraya??
If i am going back from A’ Famosa Resort straight up to Genting, how can i do it??
Can I know the approximate fare for those routes?
Thanks!!
112. Administrator | November 12th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
Alice, Claire:
There’s no direct bus service offered between KL Pudu and A’ Famosa Resort. You have to take express bus from KL Pudu to Melaka Sentral (2 hours journey), and the earliest option is 8am. Transnasional fare is RM9.40
You may refer to the 14th comment on getting to A’ Famosa from Melaka Sentral.
From Melaka Sentral, you may opt for 707 Express, to head for Genting directly from Melaka Sentral.

Thank you.
116. Administrator | November 14th, 2007 at 2:44 pm

You have to get from Melaka Sentral to Plaza Rakyat Pudu (KL). As for the public transport options UTAR Bandar Sungai Long campus, please refer to this site
KKKL departs from Melaka once every hour. The earliest option is 5.30am.
117. Administrator | November 14th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Edwina:
Yes, trishaws are readily available in front of Hotel Equatorial. Taxi fare from Hotel Equatorial to Ayer Keroh, is at least RM20
Jaja:
Aldy Hotel http://www.aldyhotel.com.my is one of the best options meeting your criteria. As shown in the location map, Aldy Hotel is located at the heart of historical town, and yet walking distance to major shopping complexes.

1. What bus I can buy a ticket for the next day? especially KKKL Transnasional, Delima
2. What bus I can buy a ticket (Malacca to KL) at Puduraya?
I would like to buy a ticket (KL to Malacca and Malacca to KL) at Puduraya but I am afraid that the ticket may be sold out.
Thank you.
124. Administrator | November 27th, 2007 at 8:48 am
1. We can buy KKKL, Transnasional and Delima tickets for 2 weeks in advance.
2. Transnasional allows us to buy Melaka-KL ticket at Puduraya, or KL-Melaka at Melaka Sentral. You can’t do this with KKKL.

Hi, Is there direct bus from Melaka to Genting Highland? If so, what bus number and how often is the schedule ? Also, any direct bus to Butterworth ==> Penang ?Thank you
128. Administrator | December 3rd, 2007 at 5:43 pm
Byanne:
It takes only about 1 hour and 35 minutes to reach Melaka Sentral from Batu Pahat via the old trunk (not highway). Via old trunk, you will need to head for Parit Jawa, then Muar, and followed by Melaka.
If taking PLUS, Air Keroh is the nearest exit to Melaka town.
HL:
Yes, 707 Travel offers direct transit between Melaka Sentral and Genting Highland. Sorry but I couldn’t furnish you the schedule. Please refer to http://www.707-travel.com.my/profile/index.html
As of Melaka-Butterworth, Transnasional Express offers the service.

May I know how to go A-Famosa by bus from KL ? (pudu raya or others KL part also can)
What is the bus number , time , departure station and destination station ?
Hope reply as soon as possible …
Thanks …
130. Administrator | December 4th, 2007 at 9:58 am
Yung Seng:
I doubt if any public transport mode is available for direct transit between KL and Melaka.
You may first get to Alor Gajah (a district of Melaka nearest to A Famosa Resort) from Plaza Rakyat Pudu, by Delima Express. Then, from Alor Gajah bus station, you may opt for a taxi to A Famosa Resort.

I have booked a room at City Bayview Hotel. Can i check:
a) what bus services from Melaka Sentral goes to city bayview hotel? How much and how long is will take?
b) Or is there any transnational coaches from Singapore that goes straight to City Bayview Hotel? How much and how long is will take?
Thanks alot for ur help!!

if not,how can i get to city bayview hotel from malaka sentral by means of taxi or bus? thanks and regards
133. Administrator | December 12th, 2007 at 8:54 am
Vanice:
An intra-city bus, Town Bus, no. 17, passes by City Bayview Hotel from Melaka Sentral. Please confirm with them if any route changes made, before boarding.
No, there’s no express bus directly travels to City Bayview Hotel from Singapore.
Please refer to comment 134 for further reference
134. Administrator | December 12th, 2007 at 8:58 am
Ryan:
No, City Bayview Hotel is not within walking distance from Melaka Sentral. Please refer to comment 132 for details of getting to City Bayview Hotel from Melaka Sentral by bus. However, taxi is definitely a faster approach, which should only take about 10 minutes.

I will be staying at Hotel Puri and will be arriving using the Delima Express which I think will stop at Melaka Sentral
May I know
1) What bus to take from Melaka Sentral to Hotel Puri? What much is it?
2) From HOtel Puri, what bus number go to A’Famosa Resort? How much is it?
3) What bus to take from A’Famosa Resort back to Hotel Puri after the Cowboy town show which I think should already be around 10 - 11pm?
137. Administrator | December 16th, 2007 at 10:39 am
Vanice:
Taxi fare from Melaka Sentral Taxi Station to City Bayview Hotel should cost you around RM10. Be sure get your quote before boarding.
City Bayview Hotel is 1KM (just keep straight going down along the road) away from The Stadthuys, heart of Melaka historical site. If 1KM walk is fine with you, then you could consider it within walking distance
As for Portuguese Settlement (Portuguese Square), you better opt for a taxi though, as the distance is about 3.8KM
As Melaka is a tourism-oriented city, most of the tourism attractions, especially historical sites, are open during public holidays and weekend.
138. Administrator | December 16th, 2007 at 11:04 am
KJ:
You may hop on to Panorama Bus (red color, single or double decker buses), at drop off at the 3rd stop - Baba Nyonya Heritage. Hotel Puri is just a minute of walking distance from Baba Nyonta Heritage
Panorama bus fare:
Panorama single-deck bus - RM2 per day
Panorama double-deck - RM5 per day
Hotel Puri is 34KM distance to A’ Famosa Resort. There’s no bus directly traveling between Hotel Puri and A’ Famosa Resort. Thus, the most feasible option for you is taxi. If you plan to stay at A’ Famosa Resort till late night, you better book a taxi in advance. Alternatively, you may consider liaising with Hotel Puri for hotel shuttle van service.

i’m planning to visit malaka in jan 08. need some help on the transport.
1. i’ll be taking train from Johor Bahru to malaka. which train station to alight to?
2. from the train station, how do i go to Puri Hotel?
3. from puri hotel, how do i go to legacy hotel @ Jalan Hang Tuah?
4. and which train station is nearer @ legacy for me to go back to johor again?
many thks!!
140. Administrator | December 27th, 2007 at 6:34 pm
LeEcHoO:
1. There’s no KTMB train station in Melaka region. The nearest train station to Melaka is located in Tampin (Negeri Sembilan-Melaka border), which is neighboring to Alor Gajah district.
2. From Tampin train station, you have to opt for a taxi to Puri Hotel in Melaka Tengah district. This is a 40KM journey.
3. Legacy Hotel is only 1.6KM driving distance from Hotel Puri. The most convenient and fastest transportation mode, is of course, by taxi
4. If you would like to travel back Johor from Melaka by train, it’s the same approach of how you get to Melaka from Johor. Basically, you need to travel to Tampin KTMB station, and take a train back to Johor.
In my humble opinion, the most convenient and fastest transportation mode between Johor Bahru and Melaka (especially Melaka Tengah district), is by express bus

Hi, I’m going to Malacca with 2 friends. 3 of us are from Sabah, and we will land at LCCT about 8pm. From the comments above, i know that the cheapest way (RM160 per cab) or the only way from LCCT to Malacca is by hiring a taxi. What we would appreciate to know are:
1) Are the taxi services from LCCT to Malacca still operating after 8pm?
2) Besides the taxi services from LCCT to Malacca, is there any convenient way and cheaper way (perhaps via KL or KLIA) to Malacca? *As you know we will arrive LCCT at 8pm, so by the time we get there in Malacca, it’s almost midnight…
Your kind suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks.
145. Administrator | January 30th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
1) Yes, there will still be taxis available at LCCT after 8pm. Chances are, you might need to pay a lil bit more for outbound taxi services at night.
2) A cheaper but more time consuming approach from LCCT to Melaka is:
1. Travel from LCCT to KL Sentral by SkyBus. Approximately 1 hour journey.
2. Then, from KL Sentral, take Putra LRT to Pasar Seni station (just 1 station away).
3. From Pasar Seni LRT station, walk to Plaza Rakyat Pudu bus terminal. Approximately 6 to 12 minutes walk, varies by pace
4. At Plaza Rakyat Pudu bus terminal, take express bus (such as KKKL and Transnasional) to Melaka.
However, bear in mind that the last trip of express bus from KL Pudu to Melaka, is 9.30pm. Since you’re touching down at LCCT at 8pm, I’m sure the second option is not viable to you at all.

Hi, I’ve read thru the comments but I still have something to ask.
I’m going to Melaka on this Wednesday, which is CNY eve, planning to take bus from Pudu in the afternoon. I wonder if the bus will be crowded on that day and I have to make any reservation few days in advance? I’m overseas currently.
Thanks
147. Administrator | February 2nd, 2008 at 7:34 pm

Buses from Pudu to Melaka on CNY Eve will definitely be overly demanded. You’re advised to get your friends/relatives in Malaysia to purchase a ticket in advance, to avoid disappointment.

may i know does any bus from pudu raya kl directly go to A famosa??
158. Administrator | February 21st, 2008 at 5:32 pm
somebody:
There’s no public express bus transiting directly to A Famosa Resort from Pudu Raya KL. The closest option is by getting to Alor Gajah bus terminal from Pudu Raya. Then from Alor Gajah, take a taxi to A Famosa Resort, which is just within 15 minutes drive.
Delima Express travels from Plaza Rakyat Pudu to Alor Gajah

Hai could you please assist me? Would like to plan my travel to Malacca A Formosa from Johor. How long does this journey take by express bus from Johor? Any opinion about A Formosa? Heard lots about it been never been there. Thanks
160. Administrator | February 25th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
Sharon:
Firstly, you need to take express bus from Larkin JB to Melaka Sentral, which takes approximately 3 hours.
Then from Melaka Sentral, only you transit to A’ Famosa Resort. Please refer to the 4th and 14th comments above for relevant info.

Hi,
We will be visiting Melaka shortly staying at Hotel Puri, travelling from Singapore and then moving on to Kulala Lumpur. We were hoping to travel by bus between the 3 locations. Ideally we would like air conditioned, comfortable bus travel. We would appreciate any advice on the bus companies it would be best to use and the routes to take.
Many thanks in advance.
162. Administrator | February 26th, 2008 at 9:57 am
Ian:
You may travel from Singapore to Melaka Sentral by 707 Express. Please refer to the 78th and 149th comment above for further details.
Then from Melaka Sentral, you may travel to Kuala Lumpur by KKKL Express. The earliest schedule is 5.30am.
At Kuala Lumpur (Plaza Rakyat Pudu bus terminal), there are a few express buses transiting between KL and Singapore, such as Transnasional Express and Konsortium Express.

Hi,
May i know which bus to take from melaka sentral to Queens Park Hotel?? and how roughly how long will it be?
Cheers
169. Administrator | March 5th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
JEan:
Queenspark Hotel is located in Melaka Raya. Town Bus and SKA City buses are both making their stops at Melaka Raya. You may check with these 2 operators at Melaka Sentral to inquire on the specific bus number.

There’s no commercial domestic flight from Penang to Melaka, until Melaka airport is completely upgraded

Could you please kindly further specify which are the bus operators in Melaka Sentral that you’ve experienced frequent delay?
From my frequent experience, KKKL, Transnasional, and 707 express buses in Melaka Sentral are usually departing on-schedule. Not later than 5 minutes from the scheduled departure

hi, may i know is there any bus at A famosa resort to go back to KL?
TQ
180. Administrator | March 18th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Susy:
No, there’s no bus terminal at A’ Famosa Resort. The nearest bus terminal from A’ Famosa Resort is located in Alor Gajah district
181. susy | March 18th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
thanks for the info. If i want to go back to KL from a famosa resort, what is the most better way for me? what should i do?
TQ
182. Administrator | March 19th, 2008 at 9:23 am
Susy:
You may get to Alor Gajah bus terminal from A’ Famosa Resort by taxi. However, I feel it’s kinda hard to catch a taxi by chance at A’ Famosa Resort. So I suggest you to arrange it with the resort front-desk, for either a taxi or even the resort shuttle van.

Hi,
For those travelling to Melaka from Singapore by bus can now buy the express bus ticket online via:

For ticket from from Melaka to other places i think only Maraliner can book online so far.

186. jen | April 2nd, 2008 at 10:18 pm
i will be going to malacca from 6 june to 8 june. can i buy my return ticket on 6 june morning from puduraya station to malacca instead of buying in advance? how much does it costs to travel from melaka sentral to aldy hotel chinatown? are there any shops & 7-11 near aldy hotel chinatown? thanks
187. Administrator | April 3rd, 2008 at 9:27 am
Jen:
Transnasional Express is the only bus service provider which allows us to buy KL-Melaka round-trip tickets. It costs RM10.50 each trip.
Since 7th June 2008 is public holiday, Melaka will most probably be flooded with tourists during the 7th-8th June weekend. I think you will most probably be able to secure your Melaka-KL ticket on 6th June morning at Puduraya. However, normally, Melaka-KL ticket for Sunday evening is selling like hot cake.

thanks for the quick reply. since transnasional website provide their contact number, can i call them to reserve the bus tickets?
is aldy hotel in chinatown within walking distance to any shops?
thanks.
191. Administrator | April 4th, 2008 at 8:30 am
Jen:
I’m not sure whether you can call up to make booking. You may try though.
Aldy Hotel Chinatown is located at the junction of Jalan Bunga Raya, the newer section of Melaka Chinatown. Shops are plentiful at Jalan Bunga Raya, mostly in old shop houses. Italy Bakery is located opposite Aldy Hotel Chinatown as well. You will also be within walking distance to the famous Federal Yong Tau Foo, located behind the old Federal Cinema (no longer in business).
192. Jen | April 5th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
thanks again. one last question - are the big shopping malls near aldy hotel chinatown? if no, if by walking how long will it take us to reach eg. mahkota parade?
193. Administrator | April 5th, 2008 at 6:05 pm
Jen:
Aldy Hotel Chinatown is about 1km away from The Stadthuys, the heart of Melaka historical site; and about 1.5km from Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan.
The good thing is, there are a lot attractions and photography opportunities along the way from Aldy Hotel Chinatown to Mahkota Parade. By walking, you might not feel bored along the way. However, that depends how much tolerance of walk you are physically comfortable with though
Else, opt for public transport such as taxi

Hi, Im Bell. Im a student from Stamford College Malacca. We are planning to have a trip to Sunway Lagoon on 23 April 08. Can you help me what transportation should us take to go to Sunway Lagoon from Melaka Sentral? If there is no transportation, can you tell me how we want to get to Sunway Lagoon from Pudu Raya?
195. vivien | April 11th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
is there any bus from melaka sentral to puduraya kl?or do i have to take it from Perhentian Bas Express, Jalan Tun Ali?is there any bus available from melaka sentral to kl at 11.30 am?
is there any taxi available from bayview melaka to Perhentian Bas Express, Jalan Tun Ali?
196. Administrator | April 11th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
Vivien:
Perhentian Bas Express Jalan Tun Ali is no longer in operation. Melaka Sentral has replaced its role.
There are plenty of buses traveling from Melaka Sentral to Plaza Rakyat Puduraya KL, such as KKKL, Transnasional, and Delima. Surely, at least one of these operators is providing a trip at 11.30am.
197. Administrator | April 12th, 2008 at 12:19 am
Bell:
There’s no bus directly traveling from Melaka Sentral to Sunway Lagoon. So your closest option is to travel from Melaka Sentral to Plaza Rakyat Puduraya KL, and then transit to Sunway with local bus.
When you arrive at Plaza Rakyat Puduraya, you need to walk about 5-8 minutes to Kotaraya. Click here for location map
Opposite Kotaraya, is where a number of Metrobus buses are found. Take Metrobus route 10 or 13, and stop at Sunway Pyramid. Then from Sunway Pyramid, you can reach Sunway Lagoon within walking distance

Yes, you may refer to Coachliner 707 Travel and Tours, located in Plaza Mahkota, Melaka Raya. 707 provides daily touring services in Melaka.

You may hop on to Panorama Bus (red color, single or double decker buses) from Melaka Sentral, and drop off at the 13th stop - Accordian Hotel.

Hi,
Since ive never been to mlaka by bus,I want to ask some questions;
-how long it will take travelling from puduraya to mlaka sentral?
-how can i know the bus will stop at mlaka sentral?
-from there,if i take a cab to equatorial hotel, how much it will cost? how long the journey? if by bus?
-from equatorial, how far to arrive MITC?
Thank you in advance
Rgds
Fara
208. Administrator | April 23rd, 2008 at 5:34 pm
Fara:
1. It takes 2 hours to reach Melaka Sentral from Puduraya.
2. As long as the bus is traveling to Melaka, it will stop at Melaka Sentral. If the bus is heading to Alor Gajah (a district of Melaka), then it might not stop at Melaka Sentral.
3. A cab from Melaka Sentral to Equatorial Hotel will cost about RM10-RM15 per trip. It takes 15 minutes or less.
4. The driving distance from Equatorial Hotel to MITC is approximately 30 minutes.

Can anyone pls advise how much is the fare for daily parking ?
Thanks and appreciate any response. =)
210. Administrator | May 4th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Lucy:
Parking rate at Melaka Sentral is RM1 per entry, and RM50 for monthly pass.

Hi Administrator!
May I know Transnational bus from Tampin to KL Puduraya; is it go through PLUS highway? Will it via Sungei Besi Toll?
As I stay in Cheras and was planning to visit Afamosa resort at 23-24th May. If the bus do pass by Sungei Besi Toll, I can aboard there and hire a taxi back to Cheras.
What’s the earliest & latest bus that travel between KL-Tampin & Tampin-KL?
I noticed that all Fridays (e.g.23th May) are considered SHOULDER SEASON. Some surchage for the package. Is Friday considered WEEKEND? Will there be any surcharge for Water World ticket?
212. Administrator | May 8th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Kiki:
The bus does go through Sungai Besi toll and PLUS highway, but it will go through Rembau to the Transnational HQ first before joining the highway at Pedas, so will take a bit of time. However, the journey would take roughly 1.5 hour.
The earliest bus to KL is 8.30am, the latest is 10.30pm; at interval of every hour.
No, Friday is not weekend. Genting practice the same shoulder season rule as well
No, there’s no surcharge of Water World ticket on Friday
213. Kiki | May 9th, 2008 at 11:18 am
oh i see..thank u so much!
anothing is;
WE are planning like this..
23rd:
8:30 KL-Tampin bus
11:00 arrive Afamosa Resort
11:30 Water World
17:00 check in
19:00 Carnival show
24th:
11:00 check out
11:30-18:00 Anaimal World Safari
the 2D1N stay package provided by Afamosa Resort will be included admission of Anaimal World Safari & Carnival show only. For Water World ticket, can we add on to the package? or purchase separately? Can the Animal World Safari ticket be used on 24th?
Do u suggest me to book the package & buy bus ticket prior the day? Will the package possibly available on the morning I reach? As online reservation of package is not available; I have a difficulty to make reservation and also payment.
214. Administrator | May 9th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
“the 2D1N stay package provided by Afamosa Resort will be included admission of Anaimal World Safari & Carnival show only. For Water World ticket, can we add on to the package? or purchase separately? Can the Animal World Safari ticket be used on 24th?”
hehe.. for questions specific to A’ Famosa Resort packages, I think it’s best to call them up to clear your doubts. And I think you all should make advance phone reservation for accommodation.
Yes, I think you should try buying bus ticket earlier, if possible, just to avoid unforeseen circumstances. I think Transnasional allows purchase of bus tickets for other destinations from any computerized agent.
