Tour around Melaka with Google Earth

Google Earth, an outstanding Google software goodie featuring bird view for the whole world, is essentially an excellent tool for you to find out further geographical understanding about Melaka, even without your physical presence.
The team at AmazingMelaka.com has compiled the first introductory release of Google Earth placemarks for common tourism attractions in Melaka, and would like to share this useful resource with you.

What’s so special about the Google Earth placemarks for Melaka? Well, just open the KMZ placemarks compilation file in Google Earth, and you will be able to:
- Find out the geographical location (coordinate as in longitude and latitude) of the tourism attractions, public facilities and notable landmarks
- Have a quick bird view of the places in Melaka
- Plan in advance a better itinerary based on clearer picture of the relative distance between places
Following are the simple steps to help you getting started with the trill of touring around Melaka with Google Earth.
1. Install Google Earth
If you don’t have Google Earth installed in your PC or Mac, do it now. Download the latest version (current latest is Version 4) of Google Earth for free, and install it.
2. Open Placemarks File
Click here to download the AmazingMelaka.com Google Earth Melaka Placemarks v0.5.kmz, and save it in your computer at any selected location.
Launch or startup the Google Earth software.
Select File > Open from the menu, and browse to the location where the downloaded placemarks file is saved. Select the file and click Open to continue.
Once opened, your Google Earth map view will be automatically directed to Melaka. Take a note at the left panel titled “Places”, AmazingMelaka.com Google Earth Melaka Placemarks v0.5.kmz is loaded as Temporary Places.
3. Save Placemarks as My Places
Placemarks loaded as Temporary Places will not be available the next time you launch your Google Earth. We encourage you to save the placemarks as My Places, so that you don’t need to perform step 2 everytime you launch Google Earth. We’re sure that you will like and enjoy the Melaka placemarks compilation.
Just right click on AmazingMelaka.com Google Earth Melaka Placemarks v0.5.kmz shown in the Places panel, and select Save to My Places to continue.
Once saved, the Melaka placemarks will be loaded into My Places, as shown in Figure 3.
4. Browse Melaka Placemarks
Now, you can start enjoying your virtual tour in Melaka. Just double click on any placemark grouped in folders, and Google Earth will bring your view to the exact location.
Drag your mouse cursor to move around, or scroll your mouse wheel to view at higher or lower altitude, depending on your personal preferences.
Melaka Placemarks Project
At present, the Google Earth Melaka placemarks compilation is still at its initial stage with limited coverage. Though most of the common tourism attractions are added, but AmazingMelaka.com will continuously pump in more efforts to make it comprehensive.

Hi All Experts,
Does anyone use google earth images as ground image planes for use in aerial scenes. I know how to stitch them together but are there any tools or tricks to make sure that the images are at the same height, angle and such to make sure they stitch well. I know in the pro version you can get bigger images but im not going to pay for the pro version when i could stitch multiple images together…
