My hubby & I first time visit to Melaka, very impressed with the lovely and peaceful environment especially sighting the celebration of the Chinese New Year 2010 and praying to Tian Gong in gaining the knowledge of how the Peranakan family of Baba Nonya people performed their culture of praying to Heavenly Fathers. We found it very meaningful the way Baba Nonya people maintain their spiritual culture.
However we were also full of hope to visit the Baba Nonya Heritage Museum, at the beginning was very impressed with the setting of the old antique furniture but was very disappointed when we were told that cameras are not allowed to take the places around. We thought even with the video camera we can take the surroundings of the museum (not to imitate the museum style) and show it to our friends members in Perth so that we recommend friends from overseas to visit this place. But do the restrictions I would say that not many people would like to visit the museum cos most people want to take pictures for remembrance.
Also we missed the nonya food until now that I realise there is a place where we can go for the nonya food which most of the people (even the Westerners) love to taste it.
We will be visiting Melaka again in late December 2010, thank you.

i’m going to melaka soon and would like to visit the nonya kuih.Would like to know if i’m driving there do i i turn left into the first lane after mosque tengerah?

Not too sure what day do they close. They are selling from house between 11am-3pm; during evening, their stall can be spotted at pasar malam - for example, Monday at Taman Bukit Melaka Bukit Beruang, and Wednesday at Taman Kerjasama Bukit Beruang.
